The Baby Philadelphia Derringer measures only 6.5" and is similar to the piece that John Wilkes Booth used to assasinate President Lincoln in Ford's Theater in 1865. It was a favorite hideaway percussion pistol of gamblers and card sharks, easily concealed in a coat or boot for use if the game turned sour.

    A highly quality and well made product for the price. The metal and wooden portions of this pistol has a look and feel of an antique piece. And it fires caps! Love it.

    Well made, excellent reproduction.

    I bought the Philadelphia Deringer as a prop. I wasn’t interested in the cap firing feature. The one I received lacked the orang barrel tip.

    The metal parts shave a nice nickel silver finish. The “wood” handle appears to be some type of wood resin and is very solid. The checkering in the handle is also nicely done. The over all build and fitting is pretty good for the price you’re paying.

    I bought some caps and it does fire them easily enough. Not nearly as loud as an actual cap and ball but what do you expect?

    It seems to scale accurately and the markings seem to be the same as the original. It will look nice as a wall decoration or come in handy for Civil War Re-enactots, Cos-play or evening the Steam Punk Enthusiast.
